FINANCE SYSTEMS PROJECT LEADER

Location: Brentford, London

Salary: £55,000 + excellent benefits.

Job Description:

 

Key Responsibilities:

* Scoping, planning, estimation and implementation of effective finance systems enhancements and projects

* Work alongside finance personnel to translate their needs into detailed functional specifications which meet these needs

* Work with IT personnel to translate the functional requirements into optimal and effective technical solutions

* Effectively project manage projects and initiatives to ensure timely delivery upon agreed expectations

* Develop, evaluate and recommend solutions to meet requirements

* Negotiate and agree scope and time scales with the finance users and IT to achieve best possible match between operational needs and capabilities

* Mentor project team members for the duration of projects

* Act as a knowledge base with respect to the Oracle Applications packages and their functionality, and be able to configure and use the applications to meet business needs

* SME on how the Oracle Applications & Operational solutions are implemented and utilised in the company

* Keep abreast of developments in the Oracle Applications arena to provide input to future systems developments, and to advise and promote to the finance community on potential benefits

* Assist with the development and implementation of the Finance Systems strategy

* Work with a degree of autonomy but under the overall direction of the Finance Systems Manager

* Provide support to the existing Support & Admin functions within Finance Systems

* Effective engagement and collaboration with Company employees across all functions (e.g. Finance, IT, Operations, etc.) and levels (associates, managers, senior managers, etc) of the organisation (PPI, Mortgage, HQ, etc) and with third party suppliers

Qualifications

Skills & Experience

* 4+ years experience of finance systems

* Broad-based understanding of finance processes and systems

* Knowledge of the roles and responsibilities of finance departments.

* Knowledge and exposure to Accounting, Close and Reporting processes

* Ability to translate business needs into system solutions

* Strong analytical skills

* Educated to degree level

* Ability to communicate throughout the organization

* Negotiation skills

* Strong process improvement skills

* Ability to develop project plans

* Proven planning and execution skills

* Working knowledge of systems architecture, principles, and development lifecycle.

* Ability to operate independently & take accountability for delivery

* Knowledge and experience of Oracle Financials functionality and architecture (particularly GL)

* Experience of Oracle Financial implementations and support

* Certified Accountant within Insurance Industry

* Project management experience

* Six Sigma certification & CAP

* In dept understanding of PPI Finance and Operations processes

* Experience and discipline with structured methods

* Experience of working on local and global projects comprising permanent staff and 3rd parties
