Salary to £115,000 plus package.

Job Purpose

The Executive Consultant will lead major, highly complex, high risk or extremely specialised assignments or pre-sales assignments that may lead to significant downstream revenue opportunities, and be the ‘recognised authority' in at least one specialist area that is key to the company's business.

This immediate opportunity is working in the Financial Services industry group – being the key account contact at a major client. You will feel comfortable discussing IT Strategy – including outsourced solutions to board representatives of a major UK PLC.

Key Responsibilities

• The Executive Consultant will be leading multi-disciplinary teams, devising solutions to complex problems, selling propositions up to board level and delivering against the promise. The focus will be in our clients banking and business service division.

•  Maintains and develops personal expertise in ‘specialist area' by planning and following a programme of learning and development, including obtaining relevant professional qualifications and memberships

•  Seeks and gains recognition outside the company, within ‘specialist area' by active involvement in industry / specialist groups to develop recognition of Company's capability that is transferable into sales opportunities

•  Develops and exploits personal network of contacts within our client to ensure high levels of chargeable utilisation for self and others

•  Tracks market trends and competitor activities in ‘specialist area' and ensures knowledge gained is utilised for ongoing personal and service development

•  Actively promotes our client business process and IT outsourcing services with clients and develops relationships that are transferable into sales opportunities

•  Leads the research and shaping with key internal stakeholders of generic business propositions within 'specialist area' to be taken to market

•  Leads the creation of intellectual property including methods, approaches, sales collateral and capability development programmes to support creation and renewal of generic business propositions

•  Shapes overall business solution(s) with key internal and external stakeholders

•  Defines scope and deliverables for assignment with ‘client' (may be internal or external)

•  Delivers assignment in accordance with agreed scope, time, financial and quality measures

•  Ensures effective client engagement and stakeholder management during assignment in order to mitigate risk and manage expectations

•  Plans and leads independent reviews of other assignments where required

•  Completes assignment review with ‘client' at the end of each and every assignment (or six monthly for long term assignments)

•  Shares personal knowledge of ‘specialist area' through coaching and mentoring, running workshops, establishing ‘special interest groups' and design and delivery of education activities

•  Identifies and manages risk in his/her business activities and take responsibility for reporting risks in a timely, open and appropriate manner .

Background and Skills:

10+ years in consulting or line roles with substantial experience in the banking and finance sector

Prepared winning bids, particularly system integration projects, in the region of £1M - £10M pa in the banking and finance market

• Experienced in leading multi-disciplinary teams , devising solutions to complex problems, selling propositions up to board level and delivering against the promise.

• Must have the ability to sell themselves and a team

Strategic knowledge of technology

• Fully capable of working effectively from boiler room to board room

• Good communication skills, written and verbal, are essential for this role

• Strong consultancy skills combined with the ability to build strong professional relationships on board level
