Job Purpose

To act as the principal Risk Management expert for the business with respect to portfolio reporting processes and techniques. Responsible for the production and delivery of scheduled and ad hoc Risk reports across Europe, implementing the data management process within Risk, the optimisation and maintenance of the reporting processes and the supervision, support and training of junior portfolio analyst(s).


1. Principal Accountabilities:


Portfolio Assessment & Analytics


To proactively seek to identify and introduce new / enhanced portfolio monitoring and analytics methods, techniques and processes in order to enable enhanced understanding of the risks that the business is or will be writing.

To ensure that such processes/reports are optimised and fully documented.

To oversee and participate in the production of scheduled and ad hoc reports, supporting the Head Of Insurance Risk in the timely delivery of such reports to the Business.

To supervise the actions/responsibilities of the Junior Portfolio Analysts.


Customer Relationship Management


To develop and maintain strong relationships with the Senior Risk Analysts and with other Business functions (Operations, IT, Finance and Sales).

To deliver internal and external customers needs with regard to country portfolio reporting.

To provide Risk support to the business.


2. Requirements (Knowledge / Experience / Skills)


Mandatory

At least 3 years experience in the financial / insurance sector, preferably in a Risk Management role.
Strong quantitative / qualitative analysis skills, including experience of portfolio monitoring processes and techniques.
Strong presentation skills, both written and oral, preferably with client facing experience.
Strong team player with an ability to take proactive initiatives in a team or individual environment.
Ability to think logically and make recommendations often on incomplete or conflicting information.
SAS proficiency (3 years +).
MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint) proficiency.
Degree level qualification or equivalent (financial related preferred).

Desirable

Second European language to Business Level.
In depth knowledge/understanding of econometrics.
